Hello to everyone out there, I know it has been awhile since I have posted a message and I am really sorry about that. I need to get some more pictures of Hailey and the family up here. She is getting so big and every day is the best day ever because she does something new and excited and always finds a way to make us laugh. I will type out a few updates about the family.
Many have not known this but I have been suffering from a really bad back for the past 4 months. I hurt it pretty bad working out, and come to find out it has been an old problem I never knew existed that I made really bad one day working out. I have done physical therapy to steroid injections in the spine and noting was working. I finally made the decision to have surgery and I found the perfect spine surgeon to perform it for me as well. I had the surgery on 9-9-2008 and it was a complete success. I had a broken fragment removed from my L5, a portion of my disc removed, and a portion of my vertebrae drilled out as well. The surgeon said I will be doing everything I used to do in about 7 weeks and I am extremely excited. It has been hard for me, no running, no working out, and passing on many other activities as well. I still managed to golf as much as I could but not only was it painful, but I paid for it for several days after as well. I think I kept the pain in as much as I could, so that others didn’t think I was weak, but towards the end my severe limp and constant pain started to show.
I can’t wait to get back out there and start golfing again....I can’t wait for my next full run.... I can’t wait for my next hardcore crossfit workout....but most of all I can’t wait until I get to hold Hailey in my arms again. The surgeon and his staff was surprised because I was one of there youngest patients to have this type of surgery, and maybe youngest (A record I am both proud and ashamed of by the way) Anyways I am doing great and my family and friends have been great the past few days helping me out and lifting my crippled ass in and out of bed......THANKS EVERYONE....and I want to especially thank my beautiful wife Shannon for putting up with all my crap and taking such good care of me in the past months and most importantly the last few days....I love you babe.
In other news: Julie is so close to having her baby it is not even funny....I have a funny idea he or she is going to come on my birthday 10-20 and that would be awesome. She is doing great and the doctor is really happy with her and the baby's health. I wish I could say the same for Shaun because ever since he found out he was going to be a dad his golf game went to shit......(sorry Shaun I figured I would try and make an excuse for you since you let a cripple beat you so many times.) Garret "Cooper" Smith bought a mansion in Sacramento that we are going to crash as often as possible. My good friend Brian Gross is starting his own photography Business. My friends Dustin & Amy tied the knot a few months back and we can’t wait to go visit them. My friends JC & Kelli are having a baby boy in the next month. My brothers girlfriend Michelle is doing much better after battling cancer and we are so proud of her for being strong. Nate is doing awesome as well and I couldn’t have a better brother and friend to go hang out with all the time. Jori is doing great down in Fullerton and she will be done with school before we know it. My Mom & Dad are great and the best part of the week is when we all have dinner and play with Hailey.....I swear they love her more then me sometimes.....but I wouldn’t change that for the world.
Anyways sorry for the long message I just had a lot to get off my back (no pun intended) and I can’t wait to chat with everyone soon. Also mark this on your calendars for all you golfers out there, in about 7 weeks I want to put together a giant golf outing with everyone who wants to come to celebrate my new start.
Cheers,
Chris
