Since my last post in December there has been many fun and exciting things that have happened to all of us, where can I start...... 1) Sheryl and Jimmy had there little boy Anthony in March and he is a cutie. 2) Julie and Shaun announced there are expecting on 10-31-2008...what are the odds another Halloween baby. We are so excited for the two of them and I can't wait to be an Uncle again. 3) Hailey has 4 teeth and pretty much crawls or walks wherever she wants to and she will be 9 months this week!!! 4) Shaun got a new job and starts in a few weeks..you the man Shaun. 5) Tiffany and Jeff had their little boy Jaxon a few months back. 6) My mom turned 50 years old this past Feb and we had a blast in Incline Village....50 years old man oh man I am embarrassed for her. 7) Good friends of ours Dustin and Amy are getting married this June and we can't wait for that

Our good friends JC and Kelli announced they are expecting another little one in the coming months. 9) My dad is very excited because he has a little over the year before he retires and I am sure my mom can't wait until she puts him to work at home. 10) I completed my first phase of P90X and in the middle of my second phase and I am in the best shape of my life. 11) Hailey celebrated her first Valentine’s day, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, and April fool's day! 12) I completed a 55 story stair race, and 1/2 marathon all in the same weekend...thank you all for your donations. 13) I am training for a mini triathlon and training in crossfit as well. 14) Nathan is going back to school in order to finish his degree I couldn't be more proud of him. He is one of the hardest working people at work, and even harder worker in life. 15) Jori is going and Justin are down in So Cal finishing up school and it was great seeing her for the week she was up here. She makes Hailey laugh so much it sucks she can't be here all the time. 16) I hunted my first turkey and landed one with a bow from 43 yards out. Turkey was around 35 lbs. and 6 years old. The guide said it was one of the largest turkeys she has seen on their ranch.
I can go on and on about stuff but the main point is that we all have been doing great since December. I know it is depressing out there, the economy is tough, many people are out of jobs, yet it seems like the price of living is always escalating. For me personally it has been very rough the past few months. With the nation, in what seems like a downward financial spiral, development and construction has crept to a crawl. However prices for material, especially steel, has risen to historic and unprecedented highs. With this combination it has made business extremely slow and dismal for many others. All I can say is I am very fortunate to have a job, my health, and a loving family to be with me every step. I promised my wife and others that I will stick it through even with bad months ahead, because I know in the future good things come to those who deserve it.
My words of encouragement I will offer this month are as follows; " I know it is inconceivable to control the inevitable.....work, job security, traffic, conference calls, bills, more bills, long hours at the office, medical conditions, did I mention bills yet. However the one thing in life I have taken control over since December has been my personal fitness and nutrition. I am not preaching but just passing on my thoughts of inspiration. I have noticed a complete change both physically and mentally from my changes. By just eating better, and exercising I have found a long lost release from life's everyday stresses. You don't need to be extreme just aware of what you are doing. Reducing soda, junk food, or fast food is a great start. Walking 4 times a week for 30 minutes is a great start as well. I know there are at least 12 people who are reading this that I have inspired to become active in fitness and proper nutrition since Dec 2007 and that is the most motivating thing to me. P90X is one of the greatest fitness programs around, and I am also completely sold on crossfit training. Whatever your passion is or whatever course you take, make goals for yourself and cast any doubts or worries aside. Don't do it for me, don't do it for anybody else besides yourself. Once you DECIDE what to do COMMIT to it and SUCCEED."
Sorry for the long rant but as you can tell I had a lot of catching up to do with you. Have a spectacular finish in April 2008 and I will talk to you as soon as I can.
Cheers,
Chris, Shannon & Hailey.
